Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hiya im new to snowheads since today and was wondering if anyone knows anything about the weather in soll austria at the moment? im supposed to be going there frmo the 6th Jan but it doesn't sound too promising for snow

Welcome to snowheads susan2hfu, Hopefully this link to their webcams will work. Also worth keeping an eye on is the Soll weather forecast, although it's a bit depressing at the moment but there's still time for it to change.

There's four/five of us heading there on the 7th, I'm not panicking yet (can't say the same for some of my mates who were panicking two weeks ago!!). There's three and a half weeks to go. 10cm a week will be fine.

Soll is a fine skiing destination you will have fun whatever the conditions.

susan2hfu, I know nothing about the weather, except to say that at one month away, NO-ONE can be sure what it will be like. Chances are you'll be fine, keep watching the webcams and enjoy the anticipation! (welcome to snowHead 's BTW)

I can join the Soll Party too. I will be there the last weekend in Jan. I am not worying just at the moment. I went about 6 years ago and they have excellent snow making facilities. You will be fine don't stress!!

Do they also have snowcannons that can make snow with a higher melting point? Around 8 degrees would do. Smile

We went to Westendorf, just over the hill from Soll several times in that week - snow has been okay at the top of the mountain from the start but it has involved it snowing on the night we arrived Shocked
