Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hey all....

Due out in Saalbach on the 23rd. I have been following all the weather reports with my fingers crossed for snow, I'm bringing the two kids for their first time so I'm hoping all will be well......They appear to have opened some lifts and the webcams indicate a look of white around the place....Is anyone there at the moment that could fill me in or maybe just back ??

Thanks,

Ben

Pension Enzian (i think that is right) came on the other day to say it had started.

I am going to Saalbach on the 23rd too. You going with Nielsen's?

i think it looks Ok at present. They are conserving snow at present and saving it for the big weeks of Xmas and New Year. It will probably snow non-stop when we get there!

Ben Dover, I've seen people on Zwolferkogel on the webcams today. I suspect there's only very few runs open.
The interactive piste map on the website shows the only open runs are:
86 & 87 on Asitz, 11 on Zwolferkogel and 3 on the back of Schattberg
Which is 4 runs, in 3 different corners of the resort.
The next few days are scheduled to be quite warm. Prob not warm enough to melt what is on this hills, but possibly enough to keep tha cannons off for a day or so.
I suspect by the 23rd it will be better. The nice thing about Saalbach, is the hills are grassy rather than rocky, so it only takes about 30cm of fresh snow to let the entire resort open. They've also got good snow-making provoding it's cold enough to use them.

It was 6c at 2000m in Saalbach today. They only have 5cm on the lower slopes. They defo need some more snow.

Just got a report from Chris Bish who is in Saalbach now:

Not great. Mostly machine snow. Hard and icy softens to slush like April. Most runs open but not links.
