Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Help! What has happened to my boots????

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Disaster! Can you tell what has gone wrong??

I bought a pair of boots in March and has custom footbeds fitted. I went off to Switzerland for a week in April and they were incredibly comfortable. I was so pleased with them.

Haven't worn them again until this evening when I went to Xscape for an hour........and within two runs my feet were killing me - absolute agony on the outside of my feet. I tightened my boots a little more and that helped a little but I still had to stop after 45 minutes and give-up - I even got cramp in my foot on the last run down.

What's gone wrong? Should I have been wearing them around the house again to get used to them? Do I need new footbeds? The socks weren't new.

I'm relatively new to skiing - lots of time at the snowdome last winter and then a week at Easter. I'm off to Switzerland on the 28th and need to know what to do!

vanderstel, did you take the liners out at any time? You might have swapped them over by accident.

I had the exact same experience yesterday on a dry slope. So I don't feel so bad now.

vanderstel, after not wearing them for a while, i think it takes time for your feet to get used to having ski boots on again. it might be an idea to wear them around the house before you head off to the slopes.

vanderstel, Its the lift at Xscape (In my opinion)

Mrs O suffered foot pain at Xscape castleford after around an hour there, however, can ski painlessly for whole days, for two weeks with no pain in resort.

last time at cas. i suggested she adopt skiing postion on lift (push shins against boots) - this seemed to solve problem for the hour and a bit we were there ! hope this helps
