You do realise that "Sauze D'Oulx" is Italian for "Sod all snow," don't you? Well, that's what we worked out after two trips there in the nineties...
Nice pic - proper snow that.
Edited to say that the Italians pronounce the name of the place in a different way to most people in the Uk, who call it "Sow-zay Doo". The Italians say something like "Sowwwwzeh Dulchay".

Peter Ross, I only say so after my visit to the Moguls for the Olympics in Feb (did I mention I'd gone to the Olympics everyone? ) and I had to put up with the idiot presenter on the day going, "are you rrrreeeedddddy Soooouwzeh Dulchaaaaaay..." every minute or so...

I think the British people's pronunciation is affected by their knowledge of French. The Italians are quite happy to pronounce the last letter of a word, so I'd expect the "x" to be so. That said, I've never heard an Italian actually say the name, so can't comment further.

carled, I have usually heard it pronounced as "Sow-zay Doo" by Italians but it depends on where in Italy they come from. In many parts it is apparently known as "Salice" (pronounced Sal-eech-ay).

Don't make me get out my home video of the moguls with the accompanying lunatic announcer to prove you all wrong...
(You'd have thought a local would have corrected him after the first few dozen attempts if he was persistently getting it wrong, wouldn't you...?)
