Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

First opportunity ever to go away at Christmas, so it has to be snow!
Never been out of France, girls (11 and 14) are confident on reds, leave is booked so where would y'all recommend for a first Canadian ski trip next Christmas? Would be grateful for all opinions and recommendations - thanks.

helenjane, Christmas? Has to be Whistler for snow and atmosphere. You could also spend a few days in vancouver before which I highly recommend. Have spent Christmas and NY there on a few occasions and it is pretty amazing.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Mouth, thanks, not sure whether to go east or west coast, and budget not limitless. Have heard horror stories about how bitterly cold it is - don't want the kids whinging all week - how did you find the weather?

helenjane, Whistler is not as cold as the East Coast, my sis-in-law had ice storms in Tremblant.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

helenjane, Weather can indeed be cold yes but I have had as cold in Europe. When I was there in Dec/Jan it was cold yes but as long as you wear right gear kids will be fine. I also agree with Helen Beaumont,

If you absolutely have to be snowsure, I wouldn't take this season as a guide and I'd go to Banff over Whistler, Fernie etc etc. Late starts to the season as in Europe are a distinct possibility in low lying resorts in BC.
