Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello, im new!!!

We have just booked our first skiing holiday abroad (its usually Aviemore!!!) and I am really looking forward to it. We are heading to Zell am See on the 13th January and I just wondered what the skiing is like then and if any one can recommend any good ski schools for my partners son?

Cheers

kewstokekate, welcome to snowHead snowHead

I see you're not far from South Molton, or "S'moltunn" as I gather the locals call it. I guess we all have our crosses! Ms hyweljenkins is from Dulverton - that's my cross. Once spent New Year's Eve in S'moltunn.

kewstokekate,

Was there last march. Had a great time. Really recommend a day trip to Saalbach. It is only 20 minutes away by public bus.

I second that johnboy. In fact we were staying in Zell but travelled to Saalbach every day on the advice of a local who said the skiing was much better there.

I think for a skier with no or just a couple of weeks experience that Zell and Kaprun would be fine

Frosty the Snowman, Elizabeth B,

Fair point. Though I think there is plenty of easy skiing in Saalbach, so worth a look. Personally I enjoyed my day at Saalbach much more than Kaprun and it didn't seem to take any longer to get there.
