Scary stuff though, I've always wondered how easy it would be to jump and reduce the chance of injury if you got stuck on a chair lift, but the damn thing coming off the cable is a different matter entirely!
What is the consensus on getting stuck on a chair lift? Monkey crawl to the nearest pilon? Jump with boots on or off? (Or stay put and allow bottom lip to wobble?)

As a youngster I got stuck on a chairlift when the power failed, they had to wind us backwards by hand, took about 90mins followed by a longish but fairly flat walk in ski boots
