Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well they always have Ski Jumping there in new yers' day - definitely worth going to see if you're there.

There are (I think) 3 distinct areas to ski there. I can't remember the name of the main bit (Grainau maybe?) but there's also the Wank (really!) and the Zugspitze. The Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany and there's a small glacier up there. It's quite a big 'proper' town (ie. not just a ski resort). There's quite a famous casino there... and a dog track... it's a really good place to hear oom-pah music....... erm, what sort of info were u after?

just general info on things to do , any tips on where to get the best deal on ski hire or lift passes , nightlife which bars to go to & which to avoid , going there for long w/end mid jan . thanks for replying & posting the pics , those chaps on the fumble they wouldn't be fumble**s would they ??? surely not lol

Both in English as well if your German isn't up to it. The "Wank" area isn't open in the winter anymore.
