Snow Reports

Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi All,
has anyone ever skied or boarded in Serbia or Slovakia?
Just wondering how good the snow conditions are/what the resorts are like and when the season ends there?
thanks
Dan

yes, search on the forums for kopaonik. its a great resort (been there for the last 5 years). season starts in december, goes on as long as the snow lasts - typically end of march, although its been known to stay fairly cold for a while up there.
theres also some smaller resorts in serbia, but i dont think anyones offering packages to get there and unless you have some local contacts dont expect to get much luck.
ive never had a bad snow year on kop, and ive been there in december, january and februrary. they have invested heavily in their infrastructure and have some great new lifts. i highly recommend a trip there.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

its in southern serbia, a resort at pretty much 2000 meters - so you are right at the top of the mountain. thompson started sending people there again 2 years ago. its 3 hours flight, with a few hours transfer (depends if you fly into belgrade or nis - nis is closer).
the skiing is good, not so challenging - although theres a few hairy runs there. nice tree lined slopes, very scenic and relatively cheap (its gone up in price a lot of the past few years, but still food and drink are very affordable).
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
