Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

appears to be getting the first bit right, so far (albeit it's only mid November), I can't see when he wrote this though?

Well, with the new season around the corner, the eyes are on the weather and how this season will deliver. Many of you will have heard about the longer range forecasts calling for an "average" winter, especially with a weak El Nino expected this year in the Pacific Ocean. The main agreement coming from all forecasting camps is that the blocked, meridional patterns will continue into the winter bringing a season with a greater risk of "extremes", as opposed to "an average" season.
A slightly later than average start to the season is expected, with some resorts struggling to get that first base down by early December. However, the season is shaping up to be a good one, but perhaps the best conditions not until February next year. This season, we're expecting many resorts to continue to to provide excellent conditions until late into the season with no shortage of snow during March and April.
To summarize, a good season on the cards for 2006/7, however unlike last year, a delayed start, but extended last few weeks look likely.

Why do these predictions make me think of the "read you star sign" pages in the papers?
