Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

My two boys (6 and 7) need new boots this season so I have been shopping around. Their feet are mondo 19 and 20 and at this size you seem to be able to choose between basic rear entry (60 CHF) or two buckle (100 CHF). They currently have rear entry boots and they can do them up themselves.
Would there be any advantage to the more expensive 2 buckle boots? I would imagine them to be more difficult for the kid to put on by himself. They can both ski blue runs and are moving towards parallel turns.

We've just put our 5 year old (although he's probably done a bit more than your two as he'll ski reds/easier blacks pretty well parallel) in a three clip boot because the basic boots simply didn't give a good enough fit. At just 5 his comment after just one run in the new boots was that "they help him to turn better" so he can obviously tell the difference. He can do them up himself by the way, so I'd not worry about your older ones being able to do it.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, Just bought our kids aged 5 & 6 with 6 weeks skiing experience Salomon T2 2 buckle boots at Decathlon for £40 (£59 in S&R etc) The rear entry single clip boots they had last season were super comfy but as mentioned by

, they now need something with a better fit, putting them on unaided doesn't seem to be a problem.
