Poster: A snowHead

Have any of you stayed at Hotel Bellerive in Zermatt? Good/Bad experiences? My group has decided on Zermatt, arriving 10.3.2007 and staying for a week. After looking through the various offers in Zermatt, Hotel Bellerive looks to be a good deal.
For those that have stayed there in the past, what's the location like in relation to the ski slopes and cable cars? Short walk? Any additional input you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hokie1, never stayed there, but it looks very nice from the website
You'll have a great time in one of the best, if not the best, european ski resorts.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Never lodged at the Hotel Bellerive, but I stayed at the 3-star Hotel Perren in early Mar 2006. It is right next to the Sunnegga Funicular -- highly recommended for its ski-in-ski-out convenience, when conditions allow.
You need to be as close to one of the main lifts as possible because the skibus service in Zermatt is poor. They run frequently and on time, but the buses are tiny, overcrowded and waiting lines tend to be long.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you for the response and I'll be sure to inquire about rooms/packages at the Hotel Perren.
