Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Summer snow....again!

I know, I know. This has been discussed and discussed. And I know, I know. I have previously asked lots of questions, but...

I am hoping to book flights this week to head for the snow in the next 4-5 weeks. I want to know in some sort of order (say to a max of 5 summer ski resorts) what is the most convenient in terms of transfer from their nearest local airport. I am travelling from London Luton or Stansted on Sleazyjet or Ryanair.

Where I am coming from is I want to know if I flew into Geneva for example that Tignes is 10 minutes away (I wish), but LDA is 30 minutes (again, I wish). I am trying to avoid hours and hours land travel when I get to continental Europe as will have partner and baby in tow.

Thanks.

Try somewhere from Salzburg. You could probably get to Kaprun in about two hours. When we booked a few weeks back the cost of a flight for the beginning of Aug was cheaper than a session at the Snowzone in MK Wink

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Make that 1hr 20mins. Tried and tested (yesterday) by taxi for 140 Euros.

Other trip details, if someone (interested Snowball?) wants to organise a weekend, are:

- Flights: £5.99 e/w with Ryanair booked a month in advance
- Accomodation: Hotel Kaprunerhof(4 star) 50 Euros/night H/B (worth going just for the hotel)
- 3 Day Lift Pass: 62 Euros - haven't read the resort info, but I'd say that would get you about 1 km of piste in total (not good, but I just went for the beer)
- 3 Day Ski Hire: 80 Euros for a pair of Salomon Equipe 10 SC(slalom skis-ideal for the shortish pistes)

Oh, and yes, it did snow on the glacier yesterday. Very Happy
