Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I went to Xcrap at the start of September and hated it – snow was lumpy –icy patches and I’m sure the skis that they gave me were cr@p. Either that or I had forgotten how to ski Shocked

I’ve just come back from Glasgow - I went again and my faith is restored I can still ski (all be it slowly) rolling eyes
They had a grand slalom and a slalom course set out for the junior GB ski team (or at least some of them) and once they had finished I managed to get from the top to the bottom without looking like a complete tool Very Happy
It’s 20 years since I’ve skied though gates and the experience seems to have focused the mind and reminded me that rhythm is important.
At least I’m now looking forward to the coming season Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

II, I had never skied gate until the race at the EoSB. It was, by a no8 bus ride, the most fun thing I have ever done on skis. You dont have to be good to have fun.

Amen to that brother, applies to a lot off skiing activities. A little jump is a big jump to a beginner, if it makes you grin then it's worth it.
