WIDESPREAD TONIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY. ROADS WILL
BECOME SNOWPACKED OR ICY OVER THE HIGHER PASSES AND THE
EISENHOWER TUNNEL.
REMEMBER...A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS HAZARDOUS WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY. SIGNIFICANT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS ARE OCCURRING OR EXPECTED. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO

i drove berthoud pass last night and it wasn't fun. i have awd, however, don't typically put snow tires on in september. visibility was nil at times and i would guess winds approached twenty to thirty mph at times. the trip typically takes 30 minutes. i did it in an hour and a half.
i don't ever remember a storm like this in mid september. the weather service here is predicting more snow.

In Salt Lake City the weather is like Manchester (almost makes me home sick) so it will be snowing heavily at the higher altitudes.

loveland and a-basin just opened for the season this weekend. it's good to know another season is upon us here in colorado. five months off snow is simply too long.
