Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

St. Anton - too sunny, low for March?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I just found out that the majority of slopes face south in St. Anton.

When does that start to be a problem? Are conditions generally icy in the spring? Is snow coverage an issue on lower slopes? Is the Valluga crusty most the time?

Any advice on when it is optimal to visit St. Aton would be arppreciated. I know to avoid the school holiday weeks in the Feb 10-25 range.

Thx.

telski, St. Anton is fine right through to the end of season beginning of May. You might find that you can't ski down to St. Anton from middle of April onwards, but that hardly reduces the skiable area for you. March is usually no problem. St.Anton is optimal from mid Jan through mid April Madeye-Smiley Never had any problems with a crusty Valluga!

I'd certainly rely on St Anton up to mid-March, maybe not later.

Not a problem. If it is a bit to soft for you. There is Rendl which is North North/West facing & Stuben North facing.

I would not worry.

telski, the problem with st Anton, if it could be called a problem, is that it often gets too much snow, never heard of St Anton having too little snow at any time.

St Anton has got a very good late season snow record for some reason .. March should be fine.
