Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Is there a particluar brand that are a better design/fit to wear with a helmet?
Looking at either a small female size or a junior pair to fit with a Giro 9 helmet, anybody got any thoughts on this?

Linds, I have a giro 9 helmet the best fit I had was from a pair of Bolle goggles but I cracked the lens. I bought some Oakley Wisdom goggles and the extra wide helmet strap, I had to order that special from Lockwoods (I think) other wise they keep ending up halfway down your face.

Having now tried both goggles and helmet on (yes I did look a wally sitting here with them on rolling eyes )
How much of a gap do you have between the top of the goggles and the helmet?
I have only worn it once so far with sunglasses.

Linds, the only real way to get a good fit is to take the helmet into a shop with you and try lots on. It's not just how the goggles fit the helmet, but also how the goggles fit your fact - particularly where your nose is in relation to where the goggles end up when constrained by a helmet.

Linds, I've got a small Giro 9 and it took a bit of searching to find goggles that would fit without a gap. I ended up with Oakley A Frame with the goggle strap adaption which fits a treat but cost a bleeding fortune!

I agree with the nose thing....that's why I plumped for the A Frame....they were the only ones that let me breathe!! Standing in local opticians in full helmet and goggles was somewhat embarrassing but worth it to get the fit right.

Wifey has a Giro Bad lieutenant and I have a Giro Fuse. we both use Spy goggles. They seem pretty good for fit with a helmet. a good source is www.the-eye-shop.com

Many thanks to you all for your advice snowHead
I think what I need to do is to try my goggles with the helmet and actually ski in them to see how they are before I go and spend a load of money on new ones.

You could test the goggles and helmet out by wearing both and running quickly up and down the road, you'll soon form an opinion as to whether the 2 are compatable, and your neighbours may offer a second opinion as well.
