Holy moly, you need a very good graphics card to play that clip, mine just hasn't got enough colours to render those outfits.

little tiger, I was highly amused once by a Dutch waiter (restaurant of the Hotel Jolly in Amsterdam, a very, very fine Italian place if you want a recommendation)
who, on taking my order of carpaccio of venison in a black truffle mayonnaise followed by roast rabbit (see what I mean?),
replied with, "ah, yes, an excellent choice Sir, the Bambi and Thumper combo."

Huh. I drop out of here for a bit, and ya'll go ballistic on Mr. Fox. Some of you haven't been paying attention!
Fox was my "student" for my Level II PSIA exam in Spring, 2005. His skiing was from the very first EpicSki Academy (2003, Fox?). At that time, WTFH had challenges getting down moguls of any kind, and had some real flex/extend issues, sequential edging, and so on. By the time ESA 2006 came around this last year, as you can see from the video, he had improved tremendously! At this point, frankly, he can ski any terrain on any of the mountains where he and I have skied together. Admittedly, he is still learning and growing, and, as is obvious from that clip, "works" on his skiing a little too hard at times. One of the reasons that he is as stiff as he is there is that he's "working" on his skiing (and he knows he's on video!). The spring before this, at Vail, he skied more balanced and loose than he does in this video. Also, I'm not sure, but that may have been his first day on snow in some months.
I'd hate to have you guys rip my skiing apart! If you want to, take a look here. What you'll see in the first clip is my bobble of the day at Vail last April. By the end of the season (my season ended May 22nd during a race clinic at Copper Mountain), I was skiing much better than I was in that clip. What does that tell you/us? Pretty much nothing.

ssh, thanks! Yes, I'm not a big fan of playing for the camera, and the Vail trip was a lot of fun (also, there was a link between the Vail trip and the group I was skiing in at ESA this year... )

Wear The Fox Hat,
You talked of the Salomons of my heart
You said that they were just not the part
You said they flattered
And I thought that this mattered
Now I hear you just speak in complete Fart

Although it may have helped if I'd posted this earlier in the thread, the reason I said this;
marc gledhill wrote: |
Wear The Fox Hat, were you doing some sort of drill, cos the guy who skiied before you looked to be doing much the same. |
Was because I was skiing with Fox the day before that video and I skied with him later that week. On both occasions he seemed be be skiing better then than in the clip.

marc gledhill, I'm just not that good performing for a camera - I tend to tense up and go stiff. (which is ok for some video work, but not all)
