On the cards for next year - had meant to get up this year but the snow was way to good for skiing - Have heard that it is quite expensive but definitely worth a trip

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Apparently it is. Not speaking from experience but from hearing the various comments of friends who have. There are differnt ways to tackle it - manned bob or on own (automated one).

yes and depends
they offered several versions,
one is a multiple car thing in which 6 or so sit with no driver, ok but not fantastic and quite pricey - this is what i did and would have to say dont bother.
the one to go for is the one where you go in a proper olympic one with professional drives, i would imagine this is good (the one above shows the potential but never gets close to the experience) but is very pricey and they dont do it so often.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Automated bob is very quick and exciting. The manned bob takes half the time
I papped my pants on the auto (self steering) thing, goodness knows what the manned one is like.

For those not familiar with LP, the bob run was built for the Albertville Winter Olympics and is at the side of the approach road up to the purpose-built bits of the LP complex but quite a bit lower than the 'villages'. Most TOs will offer to run mini bus trips to and from it - usually late afternoon just after the slopes close and (if you are lucky..) in time to get back up the hill for dinner. If you're independent, get a few together to share a taxi.

The bob-taxi 6 man thing was exciting enough for me thanks ... can't care to imagine how intense the proper bob is! Not sure I'd do it again but as a one off it was a great experience.

Did the 'auto' bob back in 99. 4 People pile in, hold on to some handles, then get pushed off. First couple of corners feel really tame, then about turn 3 or 4 it just accelerates. Better than any rollercoaster.
Would love to try the manned one at some stage.
