Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Views on Morillon

Has anyone got any experience of Morillon? I've skied down to it from Flaine and it strikes me as an ideal family, small resort linked into a big area. Also really near Geneva. But I've never actually skied from there. Although it's only 1100m it seems to have an excellent snow record on north facing slopes. Can anyone offer first-hand experience of holidaying there?

I have a flat there, and I'll be there this weekend actually. Not sure what you want to know really.

Les Esserts is 1100m, the original village is below there. Les Esserts is fine if you go away to actually ski, there's two restaurants and one bar at Les Esserts. It's just an access point into the Grand Massif really, the local slopes are fine but it's the Grand Massif you ski.

It's a much easier drive to Morillon than Les Carroz or Flaine and Samoens even with the new lift is a disaster for access.

They are an awful rock band aren't they? I seem to remember a lead singer called Fish or something????

Morillon seems wider and easier than the rest of Massif and should appeal to families. At the top with Les Carroz and the route to Flaine can be very busy while Samoens has some tricky runs. Too many skiers can spoil the piste. Been to Flaine/Morillon/Les Carroz and Sanoens area for a few times but eventually settle for Portes Du Soleil. Personally I think Les Get/Morzine is a better place to go for because the area is more spread-out.

Shucks! I thought this thread was about Marillion.
Oh well, I'd better put my loons back in the cupboard after all.....
