Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm very pleased to see we're mentioned ahead of Tignes for a change! hibernia, powder, in summer tends to be a rather elastic term! Shock

Easiski, I was over in Saas Fee skiing with Warren Smith from 6th August. On the Sunday morning there was several inches of fresh powder. It was the best conditions I've ever seen for summer skiing! When we left on the 12th there was fresh snow not far above the village.

Is Les 2 Alpes still open this weekend? If so I might pop up on Saturday.

Red Dave, Saturday is the last day. No powder but good hard summer snow at the moment. Not 3 bad for the end of August. We had about 10cms of fresh, and, yes - called it "powder", but it wasn't really ... it was just fresh snow, a little heavy by 13.00, but all the idiot Italian racers stick to their training lanes even when there's fresh - so you get to make tracks right to the end.

It's true though ( Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad ) that Saas Fee had more snow than we did with the recent storms.

Easiski, I'll keep an eye on the weather and probably come up. What time is the 1st lift? I can't find the information on the LDA website.

There was a real mixture of race trining nationalities at Saas Fee - English, Scots, Amercians, Russians, etc. amongst the Swiss; no Italians though. They were all sticking to their race lines too, I'm glad to say. Prety busy in all on the lifts; probably as many other glaciers suffered big time in the July heat.

Red Dave, First public lift is 07.15 (I think it's on the DAL website - www.2alpes.com) just to be confusing. We have a good variety of nationalities here, but more italians than anything else. Twisted Evil It's not too busy at the moment, and the only queues have been as posted by pix ...... Everywhere else no more than 2 mins. Very Happy
