An update of the hotspots here
Not much in europe, perhaps Kaprun - the Kitsteinhorn glacier; and some powder snow on the Saas Fee glacier.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm very pleased to see we're mentioned ahead of Tignes for a change! hibernia, powder, in summer tends to be a rather elastic term!

Easiski, I was over in Saas Fee skiing with Warren Smith from 6th August. On the Sunday morning there was several inches of fresh powder. It was the best conditions I've ever seen for summer skiing! When we left on the 12th there was fresh snow not far above the village.
Is Les 2 Alpes still open this weekend? If so I might pop up on Saturday.

Easiski, I'll keep an eye on the weather and probably come up. What time is the 1st lift? I can't find the information on the LDA website.
There was a real mixture of race trining nationalities at Saas Fee - English, Scots, Amercians, Russians, etc. amongst the Swiss; no Italians though. They were all sticking to their race lines too, I'm glad to say. Prety busy in all on the lifts; probably as many other glaciers suffered big time in the July heat.
