Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How do I become an instructor?

There have been a couple of posts along these lines, I hope the following links will be useful....

http://www.britski.org/instruct.pdf (for instructor qualification, artificial slopes) Two levels, either a CI (club instructor), beginners level, or ASSI (see below).

Becoming an ASSI (Artificial Slopes Ski Instructor)

To become a Snowsport England coach, two levels - either an ASPC (Artificial Slopes Performance Coach), or the higher level Snowsport England coach, entitling you to apply for an IVSI licence, with which you can coach skiers on snow:

PG, 'course, that depends on where you live, eh? For the U.S., check out the PSIA web site.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

sshure, that was more of a response to the several UK-based Brits who'd asked about basic dryslope instructor training within their own system, and the more advanced steps that follow...

This might be a useful section in the snowHeads site as a whole - pages on the various instructor training systems, particularly in Europe and in N.America....

PG, agreed! Seems that there's at least some interest in formal training. I must admit that I learned a lot from clinics and exams as a result of my formal PSIA training this past season. I am a far better skier than I was even at the beginning of the season.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

And i fully recommend the CSIA system. Having taken my skiing back to basics, i have now moved so far fowards. snowHead
