Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Couple of nights in Val Thorens - low(er) cost recommendations?

Hi All

I'm planning to visit my daughter who is going to be working in VT this season.

Plan is to start the week with friends in Arcs 1950, then drive over to VT on Weds 29/1 to spend a couple of nights in VT with her, leaving on 31/1.

Any tips for reasonably priced accommodation, please?

Airbnb etc are quoting silly money in VT, slightly more bearable in Reberty etc. I get I'm pushing water uphill to an extent but didn't know if there were any hidden gems that might make it less eye watering!

Thanks in advance!

@Ski Tyke, sleep in the car Very Happy Toofy Grin . Only joking the suggestion above is the good or alternatively stay in a cheap B & B in Moutiers and drive to Brides Les Bains for first gondola up in the morning.

Assuming you want to see her in the evening & thus the Orelle option of commuting over by the day is a no go then my only suggestion is a cheap studio in Les Menuires and drive up to her. Or maybe UCPA if they sell rooms by the night.

@Ski Tyke,
Wait 'til she's in resort & she should be able to find you accommodation - she just has to be sociable & ask around. But if she is working for a tour operator she may be able to arrange family discount?

Hi All

Some great suggestions and some - less so!!

Thank you all for your input.

I have managed to get a not too astronomically priced apartment via airbnb in Reberty. The best bit is, I found out I could pay for it with Amex reward points, so using some man maths, it was free!
