Poster: A snowHead

Booked a few days pre Christmas in Saas Fee with the lad, looking for restaurant recommendations on and off the slopes. Particularly interested in a good steak place.
Many thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There are a few good options. Highly recommend the restaurant in Hotel Mistral.

I also quite like the snack bar at the Allalin revolving restaurant at the very top of the underground funicular (the snack bar is the lower floor that doesn't revolve). From memory an espresso and a gipfeli is quite reasonable and the views are lovely.

I went to Saas Fee some years back and really enjoyed the gletchergrotte restaurant for lunch on the slopes or a drink after skiing. Very welcoming staff when I went. It’s just off of the piste on a blue slope back to the village and sign posted. You need to gain a little speed to get up the path to the restaurant to avoid walking up the path to it.

I’ll add a tip for getting the funicular to the top. Climb up to the front of the funicular at the bottom, because you’ll find it much easier than climbing up the stairs at the top with the altitude.
