Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Where to buy snowboard boots?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hello Smile

I need some new boots and looking for recommendations of your best shops please with a good selection and good boot fitters?

I live near Glasgow but I'm off down south next week and willing to travel more or less anywhere for a decent shop, because I have awkward size feet and often have issues with fit Sad

Cheers

Depends how far down south you are, Snowlab in Hailsham are good, but it's about as south as you can get without wet feet!

Also depends on what you mean by fitting in regards to snowboard boots - if you want somewhere with a good range of kit to try on, try Finches Emporium in Forest Hill (Dulwich)if you are in or around London.

If you mean you have odd feet which need additional work on footbeds or some boot modification, you probably need to ring around a few of the traditional boot fitters to see what they offer for snowboarders. Things may have changed a bit but most don't really do much for soft-boot snowboarding other than a custom footbed, or maybe a custom liner like a zipfit or a proper thermal moulded liner - although those will really dictate what boot you can actually buy to accommodate it, and be stiff enough to support it to be of use - so you should talk about it with a fitter properly first. Solutions4feet in Bicester, Profeet in London or Skiers Lounge in Horsham

Where down south are you going?

Snowboard asylum in covent garden has a reasonable selection plus they heat mold and make custom footbeds. If your feet are more serious probably profeet as mentioned would be a better bet.

As others have asked, how far south?

You can have a rough look at what Subvert at Manchester Chill FactorE offer HERE

You can check out exactly what Boardwise in Cannock have in stock HERE

You can check out exactly what Absolute Snow in Hemel Hempstead have in stock HERE

Others have already suggested places even further south than those.

I don't think I'd call any of them boot "fitters" though. I haven't been anywhere in UK that I would consider to be fitters, although I've admittedly never been to Solutions4feet in Bicester, Profeet in London or Skiers Lounge in Horsham.

@jebroni3_16, Absolute aren't in Hemel anymore, they moved to a larger place in Watford but they have gone online-only.

Yeah they're in Watford. I believe you can still make an appointment to go there and try gear on. Call them first though.

You're quite right, @Richard_Sideways, thanks!

I've just had a quick look, @Gainz, and it appears as though they've removed the option to visit and make an appointment, but I'm sure @phil. can always give it a try if that is convenient: LINK to contact details

Another option is to get boots online with a thermo liner, and then bung 'em in the oven - or go to an appropriate place with specialised equipment, e.g. in resort.
