I will be doing a mini season in Les Arcs, based in Bourg Saint Maurice.
Friends of mine will be doing a week in Maribel, and I'd like to get to them to ski for a day or two.
What's the cheapest way to do this?
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Train to Moutiers and then bus up the hill.

@AlIre2024, Have you got a car? If so, why not drive out to BSM?

@sugarmoma666, Any idea how frequent and expensive this is? Appreciate it
@rjs, No, this would be the obvious way but alas no car

@AlIre2024, the trainline.com link will give you the train times and prices, but further research is necessary for the bus timetables as I do not believe they are published yet.
I would expect the price to be around 20 -30€ each way. But that is just a guess.

The shortest bus ride from Moutiers would be to Brides Les Bains, only about 8 km up the road. You can then take the gondola from there (20 minutes) direct to Meribel.

@Bergmeister, amazing! Thank you! Presumably the gondola is on the 3 Valleys/Meribel lift pass?
@rjs, thanks a million!

Yes. It's on the Meribel lift pass and it's a lovely ride up. We've stayed in Brides LB a couple of times and enjoyed an early morning coffee and croissant on the scenic ascent .
You just need to remember that the last gondola descent to Brides from Meribel is quite early - ie about 5pm.

Excellent! I suppose I could just ski into Meribel center and get the bus back to Moutiers from there

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@AlIre2024, there is possibly an alternative route, ski to Champagny en Vanoise (far side of La Plagne), taxi to Bozel, free bus to Couchevel and ski to Meribel. I don't know if it can be done in a day but I would imagine so. I also don't know how easy it is to get a taxi between Champagny en Vanoise and Bozel but it is only 5km

3 Valleys, €70 day ticket required for 2 lifts and 1 ski run...

You know it makes sense.

Free bus Bozel to Courchevel?? Wouldn't that just be a normal service bus?

I'm guessing that the OP will be getting a season pass, they would need it to be a Paradiski one to go that route.

@rjs, Rather than buying a Paradiski season pass you can pay around 20 euros for the day you want to ski on the other side if you just buy the La Plagne or Les Arcs season pass.

The bus is just over 4euros from Champagny to Bozel with far more frequent journeys on a Saturday. See the link on @rjs, second post for times and prices.
If a taxi is the preferred option Monsieur Dunand is the only taxi operator in the village.

I accept that the OP will have a season pass for Les Arcs area but I
meant that it will cost €70 (for a day ticket) to ski the 3 Valleys section, from Courchevel to Meribel...

Hi All,
Thanks for responses. It makes much more sense to get an early morning train to Moutiers and get the first bus to the nearest 3 Valleys gondola. The reason is I will be meeting friends in Meribel and so I want to have as much of the day as possible with them on the slopes, so skiing over the long route doesn't make much sense.
Thanks again
