Hi all. Got to nip back to the UK for a weekend. If I just roll up at GVA Swiss side at 07:30 on a Friday morning (1st Nov) am I going to get a parking space at P51 or similar. Thanks……Matt

Why would you even take the risk? Just book a space online and relax.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Although I pre-booked last year (December 22nd) there were loads of spaces left in there.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I did a test booking and P1 showed as available for reservation. Bit more expensive but it is the best.
The reservation capacity in all of them is quite low as they cater primarily for turn-ups but the live availability is currently showing 6 spaces available out of a total of 3,960 across the 3 long term parks. So I guess you're pushing your luck if you don't book.

You'll need to Register first of course.

@Je suis un Skieur, Thanks for that. Maybe I'll look at 7:30 on Friday to see and if things look too tight I'll sell a kidney and pre-book P1.

@Matt1959, a tip from @under a new name was to consider parking-valet.ch
I will likely be in the same boat in January, needing to nip back for a few days in the office between two week long sessions in Chatel.

@Matt1959, One thing which might be a factor is that currently the whole ground floor in P51 which used to be pick up/drop off for rental cars is being refurbished. So car rentals have temporarily relocated to the first floor. When we were there a couple of weeks ago they said that they were hoping all would be back to normal by December but in the meantime this will obviously put pressure on availability of spaces in P51.

@Je suis un Skieur, something's changed since early summer, before then (maybe?) dead easy to reserve. Now +/- impossible.
Redev as plavved of the airport approach apron?

@under a new name, it's a while since I've been there but I was certainly surprised to see that only 6 spaces were available on the live system so I think it must be what @loatie said, it's being redeveloped and the current true capacity isn't the reported capacity.

I've pre-booked (P51) again for when we pop back over Christmas, and it was fine, albeit 10SF more than last year..

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Have never booked a space and always found one even when the sign said full

@Je suis un Skieur, @loatie, makes sense.

I prefer P26 - same price as P51 and you don't get wet when it rains

The best option is to always book places from people instead of hotels, since it's astronomically cheaper
