Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Schladming Apres

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Did anyone go to Schladming last season?

Was the apres dancing on tables to cheesy tunes or just busy sat around drinking bars please?

We were there season before last.
Hohenhaus Tenne, proper cheesy tunes and dancing, not on tables though. Gets really busy.
Platzhirsch-Alm, more showy think bottles of Cristal Champagne. 'Better' class of cheese from the DJ booth.
Bar Finale. Not been. It's in the Planai building.
Siglu, small classic cheese. Good atmosphere when full.
Szenario, lokals and seasonnaires? place quieter but, still with Austrian apres.
Tschugamuga, smaller quieter place with good beer selection, was run by a 'Basil Artois/Rene Fawlty' old boy.
La Porta, nightclub.
Angels, strip club.
Hanglbar, cosy drinking place run by a friendly mad woman.

So that's a yes Danish? All the reviews say "great apres" but I find people's definition differs to mine. The photos mostly show it at the night race or when theres a big concert on.

Cheers Hut, very thorough. So if we aim for Tenne or Siglu I'll get some cheesy dancing in my boots done?

Tenne for dancing in ski boots. Maybe Platzhirsch, watch your boots don't stick to the floor with all the spilt Champagne. Siglu is too small really. It's sort of a permanent umbrella bar (Schirmbar). Although we did see a couple of couples! dancing in ski gear and boots. The focus of apres ski has moved up to the Planai/Tenne area in recent years

Johann Genussbar and Niederl bar, smaller places on the pedestrian Hauptplatz.
Cultclub, night club.

I didn't find the Platzhirch showy when I went.
Definitely my group's favourite bar in Schladming both in the 4 to 7 slot, and in the evening after food.
The Tauernalm up the mountain is worth a visit or 2 also.
