Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Eurostar to Val thorens

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all. Hope this is ok here, if not feel free to move.

I'm looking at going to Val thorens next Jan but figuring out how to get there is maddening. Confused

Eurostar takes me from London to môuteries-salint- bunch of hypenated named station but I can't figure out the onward journey bit.

I heard altibus is good but they seem to go from môutier. I imagine this is a central môutier station not the Eurostar hypenated one. Obviously I need to go from the right place. Do I need to get a metro type service between stations to reach the altibus? Puzzled

I don't rule out a taxi especially if price is up front so I know how many euros I need or they can take my card but their English needs to be a lot better than my french! Otherwise we would end up God knows where. How easy is it to tell when altibus reaches Val thorens if I can get on it? I don't want to miss the stop.

Is there some other provider of transport services I should use?

Only one train station in Moutiers, namely Moutiers-Salins-Brides Les Bains… Altibus goes from there, take a look at the below

@andmelffion, The Altibus service can use the regional bus network, the service to Val Thorens from Moutiers is S63. This is a summer timetable, there are more buses in winter.

@Craigie, Val Thorens is the end of the line.

@Craigie, You get off the train in moutiers-salins-brides-les-bain, and the bus station is right next to it. Buses usually leave about 20 minutes after the train.

@andy1234, I always get the impression they try to deliberately not align them but maybe that's as I come to VT in April.

@sugarmoma666, hmmm, maybe you are right in that the bus departures don’t line up well with the Eurostar trains specifically. Our usual trip has been the 0801 Eurostar from London to Paris, arrives 1118. Then the 1246 TGV from Gare de Lyon to Moutiers arriving 1710. We then walk past the buses to shop at Carrefour and then get a taxi to Les Menuires, that now costs €100.
