Poster: A snowHead

I'm part of a group of three travelling to Meribel for a long weekend in March, Sat - Wed. Currently looking at the transfer options and hiring a car seems to be the cheapest option by a long way. Private transfers are coming out around 600 euro. Shared transfers seem to not work because of the Wednesday. Any suggestions particularly around shared transfers? Our flight times are pretty good landing around midday and a late afternoon departure time.

€600 for a 220+ mile round trip between 3 people is a good deal if you ask me. Add the benefits for getting collected from the airport straight away, being in a private car/van, no additional drop off's to delay arrival in resort. And the same coming home.

For short stays, renting a car becomes comparatively better value - a private transfer is the same for 3 days as for 3 weeks.

From a pragmatic view point, I agree. But I'd rather not have to worry about the admin and faff that comes with hiring a car, for it to sit in a (hopefully) snow covered car park all weekend. Plus the inexperience of driving in the mountains, snow chains, etc, etc, might not be that appealing to some.
