Poster: A snowHead

I have the former, and absolutely love it. Daily Driver all day and it really is hard to fault once the season gets going. Does anyone have experience of skiing both and in considering a new pair, why would one choose the 114 over the 104. Is there any marked difference in all round ski-ability? Thanks!
Length I am skiing is 179

@fatmansan, I have the 114 and have skied the 104 on hire with Marker bindings. I also ski a Soul 7.
In comparison to the 114 I found the feel of the 107 a bit stiff for me. It could have been the heavy bindings (my skis have Shift bindings) or it could have been the feel difference compared to the Soul 7 (totally different ball game but similar weight I think?) but for some reason I didn’t find they gave me the play I was expecting. They hold an edge really well and I found no chatter at speed. But when I compared to the 114, honestly they felt similar but without the added float in deep. Overall I am glad I picked up the 114 as they handle equally well as the 107.
114 float is not as good as some of the lighter, less stiff skis out there but for a day to day blast on and off piste I love them and they have become my go to ski unless very icy conditions.
I have day toured with the 114 once and just about handled the up.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks @Matrix. Interesting that the 114s are even more playful. I have some Preachers as well as my early season blasters and I suppose coming from them, anything feels a little soft!
Great feedback on the 114s, appreciate it, especially re handling (as I think the 104s turn on the button).
I think at £559 they represent even better value today than they have ever done.

DotM will be along at some point no.doubt, I believe the summary is that the 114 is the Asbo, the 104 is more like the delinquent little brother.
From my memory of skiing the 114 it was a tad chargey in my hands (should that be boots), it sort of lures you in a bit. Very capable ski, coped remarkably well with the EoSB conditions

As above 114 is more ASBOy. Encourages you to do unwise stuff and pretend you are Candide wrapped in a knackered old punter body.

@fatmansan, as you know they're both designed for softer conditions. Apart from the obvious width difference the 114 has a mm less camber to give it slightly more soft snow bias - but how that relates to you will depend upon your weight. 114 also a tad heavier if you plan on doing any uphill stuff. On hardpack/ice both skis are equally (in)capable but they'll get you home safely - but if you're diligent with your edge fettling they'll both carve/grip very well.
Overall the 104 in 179cm is the biggest seller in the Whitedot range but that's not surprising as a larger proportion of their sales are in Europe, whereas in NA/Japan the 114 is the bigger seller.
The Whitedot range is unchanged for 24/25 and the prices will be going up and I won't have the new prices for a few weeks yet. We do still have a couple of pairs of the 23/24 114's left in 179cm that I'd like to move before the new production arrives

@spyderjon,
Is there a WD alternative to the preacher these days. I rode a gondola in Ski Amade with a guy who had a pair and I was so jealous.

Not at the moment but rumour has it that there's an updated Preacher in the works - but not for 24/25.

@spyderjon, @Dave of the Marmottes, @SnoodyMcFlude, @SnoodyMcFlude, cheers for the replies. Still cracking up as "more ASBOy"
I'm 70kg, so no heavyweight and my uphill rig is separate (a pair of Wagner Customs if anyone cares, which are ace). I am only thinking of a new pair as I was on my 104s for 40 days + last season, only switching out for piste-only days, and wondering if I can justify a new addition for this season that'll be as much fun, but to try something a bit different....

Nice.... a top sheet update would be worth it as well. I'd vote for a riff on the original.
