Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Likely 2nd ACL rupture

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I ruptured my ACL and LCL just over 18 months ago getting tangled up with a beginner skier unloading from the chairlift. Had my ACL reconstructed 14 months ago and have been back on my skis (tentatively at first) for most of this southern hemisphere season.
Today I swerved suddenly to avoid a passing skier on my outside and my knee collapsed inwards and I felt/heard a pop again. I was almost at the bottom so managed to make it down by side slipping on the other leg, but as soon as I tried to turn my knee just gave way.
It feels almost exactly like the first time except I have no pain on the outside of my knee.
The clinic said my knee feels very loose and likely another ACL rupture but need MRI to confirm.
I know I shouldn’t get ahead of myself until after I can get an MRI but has anyone come back from two ACLs on the same knee?

My wife had 2 reconstructions on 1 knee, more than five years apart IIRC. But there was so much incidental damage, cartilage etc. and resulting osteoarthritis that another few years later she had a full cartridge knee replacement.

So yes, but no.
