Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Gressoney Instructors

A question for GnarliBuGers and those who know the area.

We are out in Staffal, late January. Can anyone recommend an instructor please? We are looking for someone to show us around the Monterosa off piste and maybe throw in a few technique tips where needed.

I don’t know the area, is there a need for someone with high mountain qualifications? We are not looking to ski any of the more challenging itineraries.

Thanks!

Alberto Ciannamea , through Monterosa Booking.
He is a fully qualified mountain guide, so can get as gnarly as you like.
An absolutely lovely guy with great English.
Last year when the snow wasn't perfect he seemed to find untracked powder every day.
We tend to hire him for the week and do a variety of stuff depending on the conditions.
From skinning to itinaries to avalanche training etc.
He will also instruct.
Can't recommend him highly enough.
You will also get a fascinating history and geography lesson!
If you go with him, please tell him Jez and Ralph recommended him.
We have used him early Jan for the past 2 years.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

.... and he is happy to operate at your level to your requirements.
He guides/instructs from children in ski school on-piste, to extreme as you like.
He works out of Champluc but we always met him at Staffal.
