Hi All
We’re very close to booking our second ski holiday for 2nd week of March 2025.
First trip this year was to Flaine and got us totally hooked.
We could return to Flaine but like the sound of Montgenevre, sounds like it has good progressing slopes for us, hopefully not crazy busy and hopefully high enough to have decent snow. I’ve seen some really good reports of Montgenevre. We’re looking at Residence Napoléon, self catering apartments. Has anyone been? And good/bad points? Are they situated near the beginner slopes? Or is there better alternative self catering we should consider.
We’re also thinking about private lessons for the four of us rather than esf kids groups and adults group. Partly because our eldest will be 12 and might be put in a separate group to our other lad who’s 9. Also we’re all at a similar level so should work out ok. So any private tutor recommendations greatly received!

Never stayed in those apartments, but I believe they are on the Front de Neiges just along from the ski school meeting areas and lifts.
Re ski schools, the choices are ESF (never used), or A-Peak ESI, which we have used for private and group lessons on a few occasions - always been good.
Monty is a great choice, you'll have a great time.

Residence Napoléon would be convenient for the ski lifts and the town. Montgenevre has a good snow record, lovely slopes that didn't seem busy and the on-mountain eating is enjoyable.

Havent stayed in Napoleon. They're a 5 minute easy walk from the ski school meeting point and access to the main slopes. The Spar is below them as well which is handy. An alternative would be to check out the apartments let by Go Montgenevre.
Definitely recommend ESI for either group or private lessons.
We've been to Montgenevre for the last 2 years and look like we're going to Flaine next year so the opposite to you!

@Dpetchey, Yes I've been to Le Napoleon booked through Peak Retreats. In my opinion Le Napoleon is the best self catering option in Montgenevre and also in a good position, central to the village and across the road from the north facing slopes. We have also been to Chalet des Dolines and Le Hameau des Airelles in the past which are also ok but older and less well located for beginners.
It is a long time since my kids were in ski school there but both the ESF and Apeak were good when we used them.
Montgenevre has a good snow record. We have mainly been there in late season (end of March/beginning of April) and always had great conditions. I also like Flaine but would say Montgenevre is better for beginners/early intermediates. The only thing Montgenevre lacks is mountain restaurants but I like the ones they have and you could easily ski back to the apartment for lunch or have lunch in the village centre.
