Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi all,
I hope I've posted this correctly (first time posting). I booked cheap flight to sarajevo for Feb 2025 half term holidays, planning on taking the kids skiing. Bit of an impulse booking, without much thought or planning. I've got as far as doing a bit of research on ski schools and have come across the jahorina ski centre/olympic ski centre. But that's as far as I've got. I'm now abit stuck regarding some logistics. Should I stay in jahorina? If so, do I need to be close to the ski centre? Is everywhere walkable in jahorina or are taxis readily available? Or should I stop in pale and taxi or bus in to jahorina everyday? Also are there shops in jahorina because Ideally I'd like a airbnb type accommodation and cook some meals. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou in advance.
Kris

It's a wonderful resort. Perfect for learning.
Depending what you're looking for and how long you intend to visit will determine the best choice of location and accommodation.
The Crystal packages are hard to beat.
Taxis to and from the mountain from Pale would be expensive. Likewise to Sarajevo.
Cheaper to rent a vehicle.
Pale has some pretty things to see and the food options are plentiful and excellent value for money. Big supermarket too.

Thanks for that.
We're wanting to stay in jahorina now rather than taxi in everyday. The kids are only interested In the snow, so no sight seeing. Will have a look at crystal packages but I've already booked the flights. How big is jahorina? Is It all walkable or do I have to be strategic in where the accommodation is in regards to the ski school we use. I'm assuming I take the kids to the school and they take them from there? Or could we stop anywhere in jahorina and get about easily.
Thanks

Bear in mind that in Bosnia your hotel (and your restaurant meal) is likely to smell of fags.
To be fair to Crystal, they admit this in the accommodation info.

Just like the good old days. When there would have been a couple of banks of smokers in the bag of the plane, too.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
