Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Pedicure for JONGs

Poster: A snowHead
After the season so far my feet are in pretty rough shape with heel cracks developeding. I've invested in a pumice stone and some Dr Scholl foot balm which "promises" visible results in one day. Anything else I should be chucking at them?

Paper bag, industrial deodorant, paper bag on everyone else's head, nose clips etc while fair answers not especially helpful.

@Dave of the Marmottes, I think this sort of thing, regularly used, is better than a pumice stone. You could use it as a cheese (as in the dairy product) grater too. Or not. wink https://www.amazon.co.uk/TYGA-Foot-Rasp-Callus-Remover/dp/B0C3VHWBDB/ref=asc_df_B0C3VHWBDB/?tag=amz07b-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=658776447093&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2350952567579909689&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006886&hvtargid=pla-2195518550306&psc=1&mcid=baacdddcb3233406bfe06a5f463b2e86

@Dave of the Marmottes, apply this daily (had the same issue with cracks etc) and this was recommended by the chiropodist who shaved all the hard skin off after various DIY tools didn't really work

I use one of these https://www.toolstation.com/dewalt-dcw200n-xj-18v-xr-14-sheet-sander/p42864 an older one but same size pad etc.

80 grit alu oxide paper, just use it lightly and it'll sand off the dry & dead skin. If you push too hard it'll just "traction" on the surface and vibrate the skin which you'll feel heating up. very easy to get a light touch and direction to be really safe.

There's no sharp edge to give risk as the pad rolls over the ends to secure, so really easy to use yourself as you can feel everything.

It's honestly very gentle but effective and realitively much faster than non powered tools.

For topical treatment, I use cold pressed Castor oil from cosmetic supply chain, quite sticky and you'll need to put cotton socks on after treatment to avoid others falling over if you leave footprints Very Happy

You can mix this oil with coconut at about 50% if you want thinner viscosity, but very effective in conditioning skin after sanding them down.

Get them properly debrided by a Pukka Chiropodist/Podiatrist. Once that's done they will be far easier to maintain and self manage. Wet pummice stone for maintenance. Any cream with 25 per cent Urea. Little and often, with the cream the frequency is far more important to start with. Massage it in well works far better than slapping lots on and slipping over

Wellies work best for that, but you might run out of friends.

Also wear shoes/ trainers with proper heel cups. Flip flops, slingbacks and sliders are a major factor for the development of heel fissures.

My daughter is/was brand manager for Flexitol.

My mates wives therefore get it free (if they want it) and all say it works.
