Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Lift pass cost

Just joined Snowheads, and looking for some advice. Was just about to book for Cervinia Jan 2025 through Crystal ski, then they told me the price of the lift pass. Local £280.00 Area £397.00. If anyone has been to Cervinia, would you have any advice on how to reduce the cost, in particular the Area one. Would it be cheaper to buy the lift pass when we get to Cervinia, or buy on line asap. Thanks Pop

@Pop, Welcome to Snowheads!

The regular (local) price for a 6 day area pass is 438 Euros. That’s a bit less than Crystal have quoted you, but by the time you’ve paid currency conversion charges, there’ll be very little in it to be honest. It is what it is.

That is the price today - it will be dearer it you leave it later !! (e.g. Autumn 2024)

438 euro is for the 'International' pass (Cervinia and Zermatt) :: 311 euro for local pass

I think 438 E is the price for 6 day full international pass including Zermatt.

The only point I can add is that whilst the international pass is phenomenally expensive, skiing in Zermatt is great and if you enjoy eating kms, it is probably worth it..

HOWEVER the border can get famously blustery and is often closed, so it maybe worth waiting until nearer the time when you have a forecast, to check you will get value for it..

Just got back from Cervinia.

You could save a few quid by getting a 3 day Cervinia-Valtournenche pass, and a 3 day full area pass including Zermatt. Or getting a 6 day Cervinia-Valtournenche pass and paying a Zermatt supplement (50 euros) on one or two days.

But you'd only save 20-40 euros this way vs just biting the bullet and getting the full area pass for 6 days.

One real advantage of buying straight from the tour operator is that if the holiday gets cancelled by you for some reason, then you get the lift pass refunded. If you buy direct, then there will be very strict conditions on whether or not you can get a refund.
