Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski servicing in UK or in Meribel ?

Hello,
I am heading to Meribel in a few days and wondering whether it would be quicker and cheaper to service it in UK or in the resort. The closest place for my is in Bromley which is still good hour drive and the servicing cost ~35 pounds. What are the costs and turn around like in 3 Valleys ?

If you want an exact price suggest you ask here: https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=165970&start=1

Not sure how you value your time and fuel but if you factor that in and the £35 I would bet that you are going to find it cheaper options in Meribel.

Forest Hill. Just behind the station. Further in London than Bromley though. Called Finches Emporium. Very friendly.

@ndaniula, it's not about the cost, it's about the quality. In the nicest possible way, if you're a one week a year holiday skier with an average pair of skis, I doubt you'll notice the difference between a UK service and a local one. But if you're a quality skier with a quality pair of skis, then a local service from a shop with a Wintersteiger Scout or similar will be a completely different class. A Wintersteiger is upwards of £250k, you won't be finding one of those in Bromley. There is at least one shop in Meribel with a Wintersteiger but I can't remember who, maybe Espace Gliss. Turnaround time locally is always overnight but I doubt it will be the Euro equivalent of £35, probably €50-60 for a full service.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I have always had good services done by Sport Boutique in the main square, they should be able to do it overnight.

Another vote for Sport Boutique. They have the fancy Wintersteiger. Bases always come back with a beautiful structure.
