Poster: A snowHead

I might be skiing with a friend and her 3 year old next winter. Never skied with young children before and I’m wondering if there are companies that have suitable ski wear to rent for young children?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

It's certainly very easy to pick up cheap and second hand - often here on Snowheads, or on ebay etc. And most of the gear, even trousers, are useful for cold outtings in the UK tool

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

No experience of them but EcoSki were mentioned for rentals in an Esprit email last year.
Decathlon's prices new are likely to be similar to renting for a week, though, and as @Origen says they'll get wear out of the items at other times too: whether that's lessons indoors in the UK or using the base layers on a cold winter's day.

Hi Rob, The Ski Exchange near us in Cambs do a lot of rental clothing for school trips. That said I don’t know from and to what ages that would cover, but I’m sure there is a section on their website.

@rob@rar, echo the message from @big_ben, I am going into the Ski Exchange later this week so will try to remember to ask and report back. Otherwise reach out to them directly. They are only a couple of miles from me and are my expensive habit-enablers!

@rob@rar, children's ski wear is not that expensive and works out well for cold days in a British winter too (doesn't require snow). When our daughter was that age we found stuff in Asda (as I recall); not sure whether that range still exists but Lidl and Aldi certainly have offers if you keep an eye on which weeks to go. But otherwise Decathlon, or Mountain Warehouse, or Trespass, they will all do the job and last until the child grows out of them.
