Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Recommendations for low volume boots?

 Poster: A snowHead

My current boots have too much space around my ankle. They are Salomon s/pro medium volume. Looking for good low volume boots? However, my feet are wide ish so may need stretching but I will need the low volume to fit my ankles.

Atomic Hawx Ultra are your friends … with a good boot fitter to widen the forefoot.

I have low volume feet with normal ankles, Hawx is a bit tight there. Might be a good fit for you. Salomon S/Pro Alpha also worth a shot.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I have narrow heels, bony ankles and skinny feet with a high instep.

Boots that suit me include the Nordica ProMachine 130 in a 98 last and Atomic Hawk Ultra (XTD version) also in 98, but they have more volume overall than the Nordica.

I'd definitely recommend starting with a fitter to help find the boot than following recommendations (including mine) though!

The salomon s/max boot is just low volume, everywhere, but the y can be stretched in the clog by around 6mm if I remember correctly. Certainly the narrowest lower leg I've ever come across.
