Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Buying Ski boots at Glide and Slide Otley

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

Anyone been to this place before an are able to recommend? I have been skiing for about 18+ years but have never bought a pair of boots.

I've decided to take the plunge and go for it. Someone I know had a good experiance with this company. Just wonder if any snow heads did also?

Cheers
Linda

Yes, highly recommended and with a good reputation. Both my wife & I have bought boots from them over the years and they are very knowledgable, particularly if you have ‘problem’ feet.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I bought some for my daughter from there a couple of weeks ago (when I say "I bought" she went for a fitting and I picked up the tab remotely!). She was very happy with them in Chatel last week.

When she described the fitting process it sounded just like the one @CEM followed when fitting me and my son.

Everyone I've spoken to has had good things to say about them.

@Lindylouski, Glide and Slide, great spot to buy your ski boots. Mrs skimastaaah bought her Strolz boots a few years back, still loves them, excellent service from the staff there. I recently bought a new pair of Kastle skis from them and very happy with them. snowHead

Very highly recommended I wouldn't have mine fit anywhere else. Ally is the best boot fitter there is.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I have taken the plunge and have bought some Solomons from Glide and Slide. The whole experience was great! My fitter Tom was extremely helpful from start to finish and didn't get impatience with me when I was trying to decide between two different boots, ha ha.

Hopefully I will get a chance to test them out in La Bresse, France next week as long as it snows..........(low altitude sadly)
