Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Arlberg Run of Fame - Which direction from Zürs?

 Poster: A snowHead

I've done the Run of Fame before, but started from St. Anton. I am staying in Zürs this time, would like to complete it in a day, and am trying to figure out if I should start my morning heading toward St. Anton, or if it's better to start heading towards Lech. My goal is to try to avoid crowds (ha ha) so that I can stay on pace and also taking a route that will help me avoid getting stuck at the end of the day. Thoughts or advice?

I would probably do Warth first. You don’t want to be stuck on the far side of the Auenfeldjet if you get back to it late. It closes at 4pm. On the other hand, you can easily get a bus back to Zürs from St Anton, etc. If you start on first lifts, you will likely get to Warth and maybe back to Lech without encountering too much traffic. You will however run into traffic somewhere! The queue on Ruffi may be your first choke point.

Despite what I said above, the Rendl valley run and Valfagehr can be truly awful at the end of the day. Crowded and bumped-up. No easy choices.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
