Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Deux Alpes Summer Car Parking

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

My first post, although I've been lurking for a long time Embarassed

I'm off to L2A for a few days on the glacier next week. I've been trying to figure out the car parking situation there but with no joy.

Can anyone recommend where to park? We're staying at the Lutins, close to the Jandri lift.

On the L2A website, under Practical - Services - Transport, it says: Parking Couvert Gardé - free during summer season 2006, which sounds good!

The other problem is that we will be arriving around 2 am - is that going to be a problem? Can we stick the car on the road and sort it out the next day?

Thanks for your help!

phagor, i would think that you could dump your car right outside the Lutins and leave it there. There are marked spaces all the way down the street and I don't think there are any restrictions. Easiski might correct me though...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

phagor, that's how I remember it too. Loads of on-street parking, and I think there is some at the back of the Lutins too.

You wont have a problem parking on the street. It's no worries in the Winter so the Summer will be fine!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks for all the speedy advice. Guess I've only been to resorts that are more strict and fussy about parking.

Now I can concentrate on finding all the gear that I stashed away last winter!
