Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Have a friend who is heading to Meribel in a week and asked where he should rent skis from. I am only familiar with the shops in Courchevel so I am not able to advise him. Can anyone share a place/places that offer rental skis that are well maintained?
Thanks!

Slide Candy are good. Not the cheapest but they deliver to your accommodation and you can choose the exact model of skis and boots you want.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

FreeSki Meribel - again a bit of a premium option but you can get exactly what you want and it will be in good condition.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Freeski have been good in the past and have had a good selection of up to date skis. We’re happy to swap them on different days. Easy access from Tourist information escalator.
Have used Slide Candy for convenience but more limited choice of skis if this is important to you, chalet service is excellent, and they have revisited in the evenings to sort out uncomfortable boots etc.
Both are either English or good English speaking.

Don’t use Precision ski in any Meribel locations. We had many issues with the quality of the skis, rattling, unsuitable size, not serviced. Also they were extremely busy.
Although we had a rental for 1 week we ended up going to Georges Mauduit Sports, Oliver was amazing and had a great selection, very well maintained skis and top quality. We rented Stockli for 3 days and they were amazing.
We used to book via
alpinresorts
.com but last year purchased our own skis and it was the best decision ever.
