Because artificial intelligence is interfering in our lives in more and more areas, the Austrian Tourist Board has decided to come up with another, playful form of AI: "Authentic Intelligence". Under the name "ChatSkiPT", real ski instructors will soon be answering live questions about winter sports holidays.
Specialist knowledge
Artificial intelligence is advancing and is already being used for holiday planning, among other things. Tools like ChatGPT provide tips and information, but you can't rely on it 100% and it lacks a personal touch. For the Austrian Tourist Board, this is reason enough to have 15 real ski instructors from the Austrian ski regions chat with specialist knowledge about skiing in Austrian ski resorts, among other things. They also give ChatSkiPT.com tips on how to best enjoy the Austrian winter via the website.
It's all about people'
With some Austrian humour and in-depth expertise, they convey the "special flair of a winter holiday in Austria", as the tourist board describes it. "With ChatSkiPT, we want to remind people that it's all about people and that AI can't replace the sympathetic Austrian taste, at least not for now," says Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger, director of the Austrian Tourist Board. The website ChatSkiPT.com is already online, the actual chat phase will start on January 17, 2024.
On the website, visitors write their questions in a chat window, similar to ChatGPT, and instead of AI, 15 ski instructors from the Austrian ski regions respond. You can chat from Wednesday 17 January to Saturday 20 January at set times. The chat is available in German, English and Dutch. Information about the chat times can be found on the website.
