Poster: A snowHead

Looking for some advice from anyone experienced in tackling the Albertville / Moûtiers / BSM drive on a mid-Feb weekend! Planning for our first campervan ski expedition from the UK (sadly tied to the UK school holiday break for now which I know falls with the French holidays) and thought BSM would be a good first go option but hadn't considered the run in. Fortunately, we won't be trying it on a Saturday (which I've been reading is worse than the worse day at Dartford / M25) but the Sunday. So for any experienced drivers, how does the approach on a mid-Feb Sunday compare to the Saturday?
So far, I've read the best tips are: get a motorway toll tag (in progress), try and get past Moûtiers by 8am latest, do the run post 5pm.
Just trying to work out our best plan of attack so any info / shared experience will be very welcome.
*note - if all goes well in the camper, will look to avoid this run on future trips!

Welcome to @m_richardson73,
I think you've got the gist of it very well. If going morning option, then every minute you can get BEFORE that 8:00am watershed you'll likely feel unusually smug about
It's just the way it all works there at peak times. Absolutely worth being in the Tarantaise valley, and working around the prevailing traffic though. There's so much in the way of any skiing and skiing holiday there that's not to be missed. Certainly worthwhile in making the effort of planning.
I like arriving in ski valley early anyway, its not an impediment to do so. As the light it coming up to full daytime level, the cool air, smell of patisserie cooking wafting across from those business, makes for a great start to a day. You can relax usually having got there with least delay, then get into the skiing.
A good alternative for future consideration, Maurienne valley, Val Cenis etc is a very good contrast to Tarantaise. Easy drive and moving around in vehicle there. Less dramatic ski pistes but with many different areas to enjoy.
I do suspect that visiting the Tarantaise though with give you a significant attachment that'll draw you back, a few times more
Hope you have a good trip.

IMHO, and provided its not snowing then driving on a Sunday is no big deal, yes the earlier you are the better. And yes get a T-Tag, it can save lots of time.

@m_richardson73, While I definitely recommend the Toll Tags, is your van under 3.5 tonnes? As I think anything over that you can't use them? Although I have no idea what's stopping you as, I believe, the Class is determined by laser measurements as you approach the tolls.
Just that we occasionally had issues with our car/roofbox and caravan being identified as Class 3 and having to press the Help button - while a queue built up behind - all cursing the Brits no doubt
As for the drive -the earlier the better but as others have said, Sunday will be easier
