Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

El Tartar kit hire

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Morning all,

As per the title, can anyone pass on experiences of kit hire shops in El Tartar, Andorra? Guess it will probably the standard Skiset, but always interested if there are decent independent shops around - my google search has found me much in the way of recommendations or info about likely boards in use etc.

Many thanks, Jesse

I used the Nordicesport ski shop http://www.nordicesports.com/ which was fine for me (rented skis only). The big pluses for this place is the very large and warm lockers in the basement and its location next to the chair. 2 lifts from El Tarter - the gondola takes the car park visitors leaving the chair to take a lot less traffic.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thank you for the suggestion, and I like the sound of leaving kit there. Always nice not to have to wander around town with a board...

I've buzzed them, and a few others some messages - Google maps was more forthcoming than the GV website! I tend to check in on board lengths before I travel, I've long legs, and a widish stance, so nice to have something in the 165 or even 168 type of size. Hence message first and try to bagsy the one long board in the shop!

Cheers.

No problem. Enjoy Grandvalira - if you haven't before, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the variety / extent and if you're not a beginner the reds and blacks tend to be fairly little used as the area is generally seen as a beginner resort. When I went a few years ago, El Tarter was relatively quiet in the evening (a few bars and that's it) so hope you're not big on apres ski.
