Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Antagnod

Hi

We're going to Antagnod at half term. Never been there before. We are intermediate skiers. Some questions:

1. is there a ski hire place in Antagnod, or will we need to go to Champoluc?
2. is there a ski school based in Antagnod?
3. will we get bored of the slopes there and would be better going to Champoloc?

Many thanks in anticipation......

@LucyHowells, welcome to SHs Happy

1. I think there is, but you might anyway want to go down to Champoluc (Tako Sports are good)

2. There are defo kids lessons but no idea if you have to book in Champoluc

3. There are only really 2 runs and a baby fun park ... It's fun for a couple of hours on a big powder day when everything else is closed, but that's about it, YMMV.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks - if anyone knows the name of the ski hire place in Antagnod, please let me know. Ditto the ski schools.

Re skiing in Champoluc, I understand we have to go on a tricky red slope to get to the blue one - is that correct?

@LucyHowells, it's the ski school doing rentals (apparently), https://www.lovevda.it/it/banca-dati/4/noleggi-sport/champoluc-ayas-antagnod/noleggio-scuola-sci-antagnod/5481

There are 2 access points up from Champoluc, Crest which is the central one does mean a sort-of-black run to get any further across. It's not really black, there's just one pitch that is steep, narrow and invariably a bit congested.

However, driving up the valley 5-10 mins to Frachey and it's +/- all wide well groomed reds and blues above.

Ah, ok, thanks. So I guess we would have to use them for ski lessons???

Thanks for the tip re Frachey - that sounds better for us.
