Poster: A snowHead

Hi all, first time to Crans. Any recommendations from recent visitors on both mountain, and also town restaurants. Quality table service is what we would like. Self service not for us on holiday. Appreciate any replies.

@twoodwar, valais2 is the guru on all matters Crans Montana. You could search some recent posts of his and/or pm him. I'm sure there will be no shortage of table service restaurants of quality in Crans - at a price.

@twoodwar, he is indeed the expert but until he comes along I'll mention a couple on the slope. The sit down restaurent at Cry D'er (towards the back) station looked a fancy place, the beer was good at the bar but didnt eat in there. We preferred to eat out on the deck in the sun, and the pizza place on the deck was pretty good. Valais2 also recommended the Chetseron restaurant but a flash Swiss lockdown during covid stopped our second visit where I had planned to try it, but the menu & reviews looked pretty good. Sorry, I have forgotten his other recommendations and we didnt eat out much during our first visit which was a few years ago in any case, but am sure he'll be along with some ecellent advice and you'll find some quality places, as long as you are happy to pay!

Best non hotel restaurant in town is La Rotisserie (we think). Traditional brasserie feel. Also has a linked burger place downstairs which is v popular. There’s a good Italian pizza/pasta (and more) place called Il Molino. It’s pretty big so booking may not be needed. Obviously (if you know Crans) there are a ton of places in its numerous 5 star hotels, some with Michelin stars etc. and all of which are expensive. I’m assuming you don’t want those. We tend not to eat main meals on the mountain so I’ll defer to others.
